Treadmill Test:
Patients' resting electrocardiogram taken on 10/1/81 shows:
Sinus rhythm Rate
75 PR 0.14
QRS 0.08 Axis +70
deg.
Normal QRS complexes and T waves
Conclusion: Within normal limits.
Exercise Test: The patient is subjected to treadmill exercise testing in a graded fashion following the standard Bruce protocol. He was able to exercise for two minutes into Stage IV before the procedure was terminated secondary to marked fatigue and dyspnea, as well as the achievement of essentially maximal heart rate.
Resting ST segments and T waves were normal and remain normal during the exercise test and during the recovery period. There was no evidence of supraventricular or ventricular ectopic activity. His blood pressures remained in the low normal range throughout the procedure.
The patient experienced no chest discomfort or pathological symptoms throughout exercise and recovery. A maximum heart rate of 180 was achieved.
Conclusion: Normal treadmill exercise test to essentially maximal heart rate. Exercise tolerance is adequate. Normotensive blood pressure during exercise without ectopic activity.
