Thank you for your consultation request. The patient underwent a complete evaluation for erectile dysfunction at the Urology Faculty Practice on June 8, 2007.
The patient's history was reviewed in detail, as were medications and allergies. Briefly, the patient describes orgasmic dysfunction beginning in 2004. He has tried all 3 PDE5 inhibitors, without success. He is able to attain and maintain a penile erection sufficient for penetrative intercourse. He does have a somewhat diminished sexual interest. The patient history of significant for depression, for which he has had ECT treatment several times, His antidepressants have been reduced and then increased in accordance to his clinic response, and he began to notice orgasmic problems. Unfortunately, stopping antidepressant medication is not an option.
Various treatment options were discussed for the patient and his erectile dysfunction. After reviewing the medical options available to him, as well as other approaches include a vibrator stimulus, he has decided to proceed with a trial using a vibrator device in order to maximize possibility of orgasm. The risks and benefits and means of using this therapy were reviewed with the patient and he will contact us regarding his clinical response.
